The feel.jazz festival goes back to the JazzHaus Festival, which looks back on a long tradition. It took place for the first time in 1994 and for the last time in 2015 under the auspices of JazzHaus Hamburg e.V. Web, which is committed to Hamburg’s young jazz scene, among other things.

The festival was relaunched in 2016. Active members of the association, students from the Dr Langner Jazzmaster Web at the University of Music and Theatre and Master’s students from the Institute for Cultural and Media Management Web joined forces and brought the feel.jazz festival out of the eaves.

In a new guise, it took place for the first time in February 2017 in the hall and cellar of the Fabrique in the Gängeviertel. The line-up on Friday focussed on acoustic, classical music, while jazz with electronic influences was heard on Saturday.

The programme was rounded off with live visuals projected onto the wall using an overhead projector, a “dark room” where the music could be listened to independently of visual impressions, live paintings and DJ sets.
